Victoria Park is a 4,000 acre New Urbanist community. Dix.Lathrop provided the driving force behind the establishment of the overall vision for the community. Design goals included creating a sense of arrival in an understated fashion, while also complementing the existing character of the land. The site master plan called for the preservation of upland acreage as well as wetland habitat. The character of the site includes beautiful rolling hills dotted with picturesque oaks and mature pines. Using the land and the surrounding agricultural character as inspiration, Dix.Lathrop developed bold, gardenesque landscape patterns. Reminiscent of the patterns of cultivated fields, they capture the eye upon entrance into the community. Natives and hardy ornamentals comprise the plant palette, and a bold fence line defines the spaces. Project amenities include two clubhouses and pool areas, multiple community parks, roadway landscape lighting, signage, a model center, a sales center, and a golf club.
