Sustainable Design
The emergence of a strong sustainable awareness has allowed us to flex our wings as landscape architects and planners on a number of recent projects, including our own new office addition, the bungalow, where we were able to incorporate sustainable design principles.
Dix.Lathrop believes in environments and spaces that stand the test of time, work with existing natural systems and enhance sustainability of communities. By understanding how people use a space, how ecological systems come into play, and how to integrate the built environment with the land, we are able to coordinate with multiple disciplines to create livable, sustainable environments.
LEED, Low Impact Design (LID), Florida Green Building Coalition and Florida Water Star design components are design principles we are implementing from master plans to detail landscapes.
