From taxis to rail systems, LYNX’s Regional Intermodal Center will be a connection hub for private and public transit. The 228,000 sq. ft. center will be the home of LYNX’s downtown bus station with a passenger lounge, a retail section, office space, and twenty four bus platforms. As part of a multi-disciplinary design team, Dix.Lathrop developed the landscape and hardscape elements for the facility. Elements include: the main pedestrian entrance and plaza, which incorporate custom lighting; curved seat walls; and landscaping that together compliment the project’s dynamic architecture. Additional contributions include the zig-zag pavement design created with alternating paver colors and integral color concrete, colorful lean railings, terracotta-colored bollard spheres, and a bike parking area complete with bike racks lockers.
