2000 Aurora Award for Building Renovation

The Barn, as we affectionately call it, is a reflection of our character; natural, yet refined. Built in the early 1980’s, the two-story structure is reminiscient of a North Carolina barn, with brick and wood floors, board and batten siding, and a metal roof. The lower studio is open and airy; the upper studio in the trees. We purchased and renovated the building in the late 90’s, adding a front porch and cupola, while opening up the interior to form a creative, interactive work environment. We have found that our office fosters expression, creativity, and collaboration. For us, “The Barn” is a testament to the importance of Place.
